I will always side eye someone who is uncomfortable w the unabashed confidence of somebody else. And when I say confidence, I mean true, unadulterated confidence—not insecurity masquerading as it (aka conceit). Tho tbh I sometimes raise an eyebrow at what others find to be conceit these days, bc it seems like it’s literally everything. You find yourself really attractive? Conceit. You find yourself really capable of a certain task? Conceit. You think you’re worth the high standards you set? Conceit. It’s also no coincidence that it’s women who’re always encouraged to be “humble,” whereas men who are openly confident are found attractive. Just makes you wonder
This is an actual thing I swear. Like yesterday my guy friend was like “too many girls think they’re 10s, but they’re really not and that causes issues” and I found that to be maybe the most ridiculous statement ever?? His thinking seems to be along the lines that girls who find themselves average are more confident bc they “admit it themselves,” but I personally see nothing wrong with being your own dream girl & with finding yourself to be a 10. Like you’re literally your own type & I see no negatives w that. & there are enough people out there for someone to find you that attractive too. Issues only arise when you’re offended that you’re not everyone’s type, but that is totally independent of your self-image to me. Like you can peg yourself a 10 and still be realistic about your expectations from other people
its true that romance amd friendship will not solve everything but. objectively speaking its very hard to get sad when you can say ‘lets go get cake tomorrow okay’ and someone will go get cake with you. like there is some good at least. you know
